Class X (CBSE) results declared
Girls outshone boys in the Class 10 exams conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), which on Thursday announced a 74.6 overall pass percentage - an increase of 2.38 percent over last year.
Out of the total of 605,477 students who wrote the examination from March 1-24 in India and abroad, girls had a pass percentage of 75.26 while 74.13 percent of boys passed.
67.68% Pass Assam Higher Secondary (Science) Exam
Cotton College of Guwahati swept the Higher Secondary (Science) results, 2005 as 13 students of the college occupied as many as nine of the first ten positions, barring the eighth position, which went jointly to BH College, Barpeta, Ramanuj Gupta Jr College, Cachar and Darrang College. According to the results declared by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council today, of the 14,254 candidates who had appeared in the examination, 9,647 came out successful, the pass percentage being 67.68 against 66.79 last year.

They survive in brothels, factories, guesthouses, dance bars, farms and even in the homes of well off Indians, with no control over their bodies and lives. Young girls are also being trafficked for illegal adoptions, organ transplants and the entertainment Industry.
Although cross – border trafficking of women, specially young girls who are coming from our neighboring countries like; Bangladesh or Nepal has been a problem in India for the last two decades. NGOs and Academic researchers say that there has been a phenomenal growth in inters – state trafficking in the last five years.

"This new IIT is yet to establish its brand image among the recruiters, as compared to its elder brothers. The evening started off with a beautiful traditional Bihu dance performance by Rashmi Borbora followed by a welcome speech by the secretary, Prodip Bora, who took the responsibility of organising the function this year. The cultural programme was formally inaugurated with lighting of ‘saki’ by Ria Das and Debi Sarma turning up in traditional Assamese attire. Rishi Barkakati, who organised the cultural programmes and conducted the show, entertained everybody with his humorous ways and with his own magic show.
