Girls outshone boys in the Class 10 exams conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), which on Thursday announced a 74.6 overall pass percentage - an increase of 2.38 percent over last year.

Out of the total of 605,477 students who wrote the examination from March 1-24 in India and abroad, girls had a pass percentage of 75.26 while 74.13 percent of boys passed.

The results, which were declared in two phases - on Tuesday for Ajmer, Chennai and Chandigarh regions - and on Thursday for Guwahati, Allahabad and Delhi regions, were made available to students at 1800 IST.
