Nitin was a year 2000 graduate of Klein Forest High School. After high school, Nitin went to study in New Zealand for 2 years. However, in his strong determination to serve the country, Nitin decided to join the US Marines and continue with his studies in the US.

He was attending Sam Houston State University and
Tomball College of NHMCCD.

Nitin was a hardworking young man, full of energy, jest, and a great pleasure to be around with.

Under the leadership of artiste Banshi Kaul, the team has been selected as a member of the Indian cultural team which will perform classical and folk cultural programmes of 16 Indian States in several cities of Russia, including Moscow. The team has left for Russia from New Delhi yesterday. Prominent personalities of Indian classical music namely Ustad Amzad Ali Khan, Pandit Hariprasad Saurachia and dancer Bharati Shivaji of Kerala will also perform on behalf of the Indian team.

A very highlighted program is expected as this will be th 50th times the deptt will be holding its get-together. The deptt was inuagurated in the year 1954 in the college, which was in fact known as Assam Civil Engineering College. which is also celebrating its golden jubilee celebration for the whole year long.

Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi visited the TERI-NE building recently and he was apprised of the progress made in construction of the building and the TERI-NE activities through multimedia presentation. Gogoi was highly impressed with the activities of the centre and expressed his happiness in writing in the visitors’ notebook stating that the TERI had been doing good job for the economic development of the NE region

Tezpur University is hosting the Biennial Conference of the System Dynamics Society of India, for the year 2005. The Conference will be held on the 4th and 5th of November, 2005.

The proscribed ULFA today named a ten-member people’s consultative group headed by literatteur Mamoni Raisom Goswami to enter into a dialogue with the Centre to carry forward the peace talks between it and New Delhi.

The Guwahati boy, son of the late Dhiren Baruah and Rani Baruah, was a management consultant with the Oregon-based Performance Consulting Group before he decided to join the Government. He is an MBA from Willamettte University and graduated from University of Oregon.

Saying that the IITs had a high brand equity, he urged the students of the IIT-G to serve the country through their unique talents. Approving the idea of students going abroad to learn about new technologies, he said that they must at a point of time return to their motherland and serve their fellow countrymen. “Transforming India into a developed nation is far more important than making another country sustain its developed status.

Dr Goswami, currently the co-chairman of the US Physician’s Advisory Board and an advisor on Health Care Reforms is expected to play a key role in helping the President’s agenda and thereby maintain a pro-business majority in the US Congress. Working together with leaders of US Senate & Congress this Commission will also look into reducing the tax burden on small business, investigate the impact of illegal immigrants on businesses houses in the USA, formulate health care reforms, etc. and make recommendation to the President for introducing changes in legislature.
