I have been decorated by the President of Mauritius in 2015 by the third highest Civil Award- "Commander in the Order of Star and  Keys of Indian Ocean " (CSK).  I am happy to inform you that I am the FIRST INDIAN BORN to receive this Award up to now and I am very proud to be an Assamese first of all.

Present / retired activities

Though thousand miles away, my heart remains in Assam and I stay connected by visiting Assam every year at the time of Bhogali Bihu. Last February, I attended the Brahmaputra Literary Festival in Guwahati and also had an exclusive interview in NE Door Darshan T.V. I also visit Delhi around the same time of the year. Therefore if I am around in Delhi and there is any activity in Assam Association, it will be my great pleasure to be with you all members.

Also, I may contribute my Articles to your Magazine from Mauritius if you ever think it is possible.

I met my husband who is a Mauritian and studied in Delhi University   I left India in 1973 and have been in  Mauritius for last 45 years.
