The 17th - 18th January 2004 has been chosen to celebrate
Magh Bihu.The harvest festival together.

Overseas Assamese are today spread over - 110 countries across the world.And
as enterpreneus
workers,teachers,researchers,inventors,doctors,lawyers,engineers,managers
and administrator and serving their host countries with distinction.However
this has not detracted from their engagement with Assam which continues to
be substantive and varied.

The events will address the following objectives :

1) To engage with all the Assamese living outside Assam to understand their
sentiment about Assam, their expectations from Assam and to propose a
policy/framework for creating a more conductive envionment for their
sustained and productive interaction with Assam and its people.

2) To acquaint the Assamese people with the depth, variety and achievements
of the Assamese Diaspora and sensitise them on its problems and expectation
from the mother country.

May we have the honour and priviledge of your kind presence during the
celebration of the Prabasi Asomiya Sanmilan from the 17th - 18th January
2004 at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakhetra in Guwahati.We would also like to take
