"Mahakash, Mahasagar Aru Bhupen Hazarika", most sought after book on Bhupen Hazarika, authored by Hiranya Kumar Das, Civil Servant Officer, was recently released by Gyanpith awardee Dr. Indira Goswami at the Civil Services' Officers Institute, New Delhi.

Sivasagar possess distinct features of having many exquisite unique monuments of archaeological importance, vast man made tank ( Sagar), bird sanctuary etc. No other place in the North East has so much potential of tourism as Sivasagar has but this has not been projected, publicized and showcased effectively in a proper fashion. The proposed Rongpur Utsav expected to bridge this gap and bring Sivasagar on the tourist map of India. Nature never betrays the heart that loves her sincerely… Hums the man as he plays the flute in the serene ambience of the Kaziranga National Park. And he should know better, having spent 18 years of his life in the lap of Mother Nature in Kaziranga.

In fact, his life itself testifies the veracity of his favourite line from Wordsworth. He is none other than Ranger Dharanidhar Bodo, whose name is almost synonymous with Kaziranga, which he passionately loves and zealously protects.

To celebrate a hundred years of outstanding Conservation work at KNP, the Kaziranga Centenary Celebration Committee organized a series of deliberation, debates, studies, exhibitions, elephant festival, ethnic food festival and International Seminar on natural tourism , man- animal co- existence , grassland Management, Avifaunal diversity and its conservation and vision Kaziranga beyond 2005.

This annual AANA convention brings together families who have roots in Assam or Northeast India, people interested in the in the cultural heritage of this region and their friends. It is an event where we can celebrate our common heritage, renew friendships and discuss issues of interest to the community.

We are planning a colourful cultural program with emphasis on the cultural diversity of Northeast India. We have invited noted singers, Tarali Sarma and Samar Hazarika, and other dignitaries from Assam to the convention.

“The SEBA has completed all the necessary arrangements to hold the HSLC and the Assam High Madrassa (AHM) examinations as per schedule all over the State, that is from February 25,” SEBA Secretary Dilwar Hussain said in a statement.

A total of 3,40,277 candidates are appearing in the examination through 720 centres throughout the State. For conducting the examinations, 1,400 teachers, 800 supervising officers and 80 zonal supervising officers are needed. It may be mentioned that the supervising officers also comprise of teachers.
